Far-out Man Thats Groovy!!!!

Everything changes, but sometimes the basics stay the same.
I have been thinking about the way things were when I grew up,
the 60's & 70's. Really, just how the phrases teenagers use have changed.
I hear my kids say things like "Man that's sick"- "Oh that's tight" -"There's the Po Po"
So, me being me, ask them to give me a "vocabulary list".
I was expecting to hear at least 20 new words and meanings, but to my dismay, they only came up with a few, here they are: "sick" = cool, (they use "cool" as well); "tight"= cool, only better; "my peeps" = my friends; "PoPo" = the police, as does "pigs" (They are using that again!?); "gay" = dumb, childish, or sissy like.
I know there must be some more new words out there that the kids use, but my boys got tired of explaining, so this is all they would share.
It is enough though, to use for this purpose.
In my opinion, I think the words that we used in the 60's and 70's were better.
"Groovy"; "far-out"; "the Fuzz"; "the Establishment"; "fox" or "foxy"; "bummer"; "no biggie" (just to name a few), are, to me, more discriptive, and imaginitive than what they are saying these days.
We also had better symbols, I havn't really seen any original symbols come about sinceI was a kid.
I wonder if that is because instead of "doodling" when the kids are bored, they now turn to video games?. Too bad if that is the case, they might never know the sense of satisfaction of creating a lasting image!!! Below is an example of a few of the symbols that came from the 60's and 70's.
I have titled it simply "When I Grew Up"

I agree whole-heartedly! Every generation just repeats the previous, but they still think they are the ones who discovered it. Love you!
